The Museum of Art and History of Durango is housed in the Etxezarreta Palace, built in the 18th century by José Joaquín de Echezarreta..

The Museum comprises two areas: the History area, which covers the history of Durango from prehistoric times to the present day; and the Art area, which represents a select sample of modern and contemporary Basque art, with works by artists such as Regoyos, Zubiaurre, Zumeta, Herrero, Ibarrola, Balerdi, etc. It also organises temporary exhibitions of both art and history.
