Oval-shaped biface with a straight distal edge, crafted from shale. It was found in Lezetxiki Cave (Arrasate, Gipuzkoa), in level V, dating to the Mousterian period (Middle Paleolithic, approximately 100,000 to 40,000 years ago).
These types of tools have been used since the earliest stages of prehistory and serve a variety of purposes. Made from pebbles, they were shaped by knapping to create a sharp edge along their entire length.
