Weaving II belongs to a brief series of life-sized works executed in the early 2000s. In them, the artist used copper wire for the first time, a material that adapted to the lightness she was trying to introduce into her sculpture in an attempt to gradually strip it of weight. The figure suspended from the floor is missing her limbs and any facial features that would individualise her, and it is defined by a dress or corset which highlights her waist, hips and bust in a stereotyped image of a woman. Like a human archetype, the artist uses this to question the roles traditionally associated with the female body and its clothing. (BBKateak)
